Join our team as a Kaikawe Kōrero (Facilitator), where you'll be supporting an iwi and community-led response to offending that aims to reduce reoffending and strengthen whānau wellbeing.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

This role facilitates pre-panel engagement (Te huinga o mua), contributes to Te Hui Matua panel processes, and supports follow-up monitoring of participant outcomes. The position ensures culturally grounded, mana-enhancing engagement with participants and their whānau, supporting pathways that repair harm and promote positive behavioural change.

Service Objectives

  • Facilitate culturally safe and effective Te Pae Oranga processes for participants and whānau

  • Support participants to understand, engage with, and complete agreed plans

  • Contribute to reduced reoffending through restorative, whānau-centred approaches

  • Strengthen connections between participants, whānau, and community supports

Mōu | About You

We are seeking someone who can:

  • Uphold Te Pae Oranga principles and processes

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders

  • Represent the programme and organisation appropriately

  • Embed tikanga Māori and culturally safe practice

  • Support whānau-centred approaches

  • Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with participants, whānau, and agencies

  • Support collaborative and integrated service delivery

  • Maintain confidentiality of participant and whānau information

  • Deliver high-quality facilitation and participant support

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Suitable qualifications and/or experience to meet the needs of an administration and reception role.

  • Communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of people.

  • Flexibility, including the ability to work within set days and adjust to changing needs from time to time.

  • Current full driver’s license

  • High level of Information technology and administration literacy

  • Clearance under the provisions of the Vulnerable Children’s Act (2014)

  • Proven customer service experience in a front-facing or administration role.

  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team environment.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Fluency in Te Reo Māori

  • Knowledge of tikanga and local Māori communities.

  • Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and its application in a health and social services context.
